[SPEAKER_01]: I will say this week and next week, I'm going to be doing something a little bit different.
01:55.020 --> 02:10.867
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm actually traveling, it is my sister's 40th birthday, so I'll be heading up to Michigan with the family to celebrate my sister's birthday, but after being off the fourth, I definitely did not want to have to hold off on any other episodes or anything like that.
02:11.327 --> 02:19.754
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm actually going to do a little bit of a throwback here and we're going to do a short on time for this week and next week.

02:28.641 --> 02:32.825
[SPEAKER_01]: So again, I hope you enjoyed these next two short on time cases.

03:48.348 --> 03:53.872
[SPEAKER_01]: With that, let's go ahead and quit the Gabby Gabby, get to the Stabby Stabby, let's jump into this week's case.
03:54.272 --> 04:02.838
[SPEAKER_01]: For this week's case, we're headed to Williamson County, Tennessee, where on July 1st of this year, 911 dispatchers received a disturbing call.
04:03.619 --> 04:11.024
[SPEAKER_01]: On the other end of the phone was 57-year-old Douglas Kirk Rawl, and what he told the operator was shocking.
04:11.904 --> 04:12.745
[SPEAKER_01]: According to Rawl,
04:18.019 --> 04:23.800
[SPEAKER_01]: When dispatchers ask why the man would commit such a heinous crime, his answer was strange.
04:24.778 --> 04:31.522
[SPEAKER_01]: Rawl claimed that he believed his wife had become the devil, and he, himself, was Jesus, the Son of God.
04:32.363 --> 04:41.508
[SPEAKER_01]: After the startling claim, the dispatcher asked Rawl if his wife was still breathing, to which he replied, no, she is dead as fried chicken.
04:42.309 --> 04:51.335
[SPEAKER_01]: Officers were quickly dispatched to the couple's home shortly before 2.30 a.m. And when they arrived, they found Rawl outside, taking off his clothes.
04:52.095 --> 04:58.057
[SPEAKER_01]: Officers were shouting commands, but Rawl refused to follow them, and he would eventually be tazed and subdued.
04:58.617 --> 05:05.700
[SPEAKER_01]: According to reports, officers entered the home and made their way to the couple's bedroom, where they found the body of Allison Rawl.
05:06.600 --> 05:10.462
[SPEAKER_01]: She was lying in the fetal position with an obvious gunshot wound to the head.
05:11.647 --> 05:16.710
[SPEAKER_01]: Allison would be pronounced dead at the scene and Rawl was arrested and charged with his wife's murder.
05:17.471 --> 05:21.573
[SPEAKER_01]: When questioned by police, Rawl continued with his bizarre explanation.
05:22.294 --> 05:26.296
[SPEAKER_01]: He told investigators that Allison had woken him up from a nap on the couch.
05:26.857 --> 05:33.161
[SPEAKER_01]: Apparently this anger the man causing the couple to get into an argument, and at some point, Rawl attacked.
05:33.901 --> 05:39.084
[SPEAKER_01]: Jumping on top of Allison and attempting to rip her head from her shoulders with his bare
05:40.555 --> 05:48.559
[SPEAKER_01]: When that didn't work, Rawl grabbed a silver five-shot revolver, pulling the trigger and firing into his wife's head and torso.
05:49.499 --> 05:53.001
[SPEAKER_01]: But then, the killer shared the darkest event that occurred.
05:54.021 --> 06:02.045
[SPEAKER_01]: Rawl told investigators that he was unsure if the events of the evening had actually happened, but he still believed that his wife was the devil.
06:03.045 --> 06:10.609
[SPEAKER_01]: So it was then that he decided to eat a part of his wife's body, tasting the blood and pretending to like it.
06:11.589 --> 06:24.076
[SPEAKER_01]: After Rawls arrest, investigators also talked to neighbors, with one stating that they had spoken to Allison Rawls shortly before her murder, and telling the police that they believe she had been the victim of domestic abuse.
06:25.175 --> 06:31.318
[SPEAKER_01]: Douglas Kirk Rawl, a former pharmacist, is being held on a $2.5 million bond.
06:31.998 --> 06:40.962
[SPEAKER_01]: And as of now, there's no published preliminary court data announced, but this is definitely a case I'm going to keep an eye on and loop back with any updates.
06:41.582 --> 06:44.463
[SPEAKER_01]: So let's share some final thoughts before we wrap everything up.
06:44.703 --> 06:48.925
[SPEAKER_01]: So right off the bat, I have to tell you, and I know this is a short on time, but wasn't super long.
06:49.205 --> 06:49.786
[SPEAKER_01]: However,
06:50.666 --> 07:06.155
[SPEAKER_01]: their elements of this case that as I was doing the research and reading the articles and things like that, I found myself getting a little sick to my stomach and it just got under my skin in a way that I was not enjoying.
07:07.936 --> 07:13.800
[SPEAKER_01]: We've all been in fights with, you know, spouses, significant others, you know, things of that nature.
07:14.986 --> 07:27.468
[SPEAKER_01]: what we all have not done is attack that person, jump on top of them, and then try to rip their head off of their body with their bare hands because we think that they're the devil.
07:28.448 --> 07:35.372
[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, so it definitely sounds like there is some kind of psychotic break happening, um, again, speculation.
07:35.553 --> 07:38.594
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, role was a former pharmacist.
07:38.935 --> 07:39.815
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
07:40.035 --> 07:52.643
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, speculation if any kind of, you know, drugs or narcotics or anything like that were involved, but to wake up from a nap and say, Oh, my wife is the devil, and I am the son of God.
07:53.123 --> 07:55.185
[SPEAKER_01]: So I have to rip her head off of her shoulders.
07:56.145 --> 07:57.746
[SPEAKER_01]: is wild.
07:58.207 --> 07:59.147
[SPEAKER_01]: It was just crazy.
07:59.307 --> 08:12.657
[SPEAKER_01]: And then when that doesn't work, hey, I'm just going to unload my revolver into her and then take the time to literally eat part of her body and pretend that I'm enjoying it.
08:12.777 --> 08:16.480
[SPEAKER_01]: And you may be a little confused by the pretend part in the research.
08:17.060 --> 08:22.248
[SPEAKER_01]: He was talking in his interview to police and saying that like, he thought his wife was playing dead.
08:22.649 --> 08:27.436
[SPEAKER_01]: So he thought that by eating part of her body, she would be like, hey, I'm not dead.
08:27.537 --> 08:31.503
[SPEAKER_01]: But apparently he was like, oh, this is so good and I love the taste.
08:32.847 --> 08:49.251
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, definitely feels like there would have had to bend some kind of psychotic break or something of that nature because if not, if this is just something that, you know, you get into an argument with your wife and your your thought is I'm going to kill her and then eat her.
08:49.771 --> 08:57.493
[SPEAKER_01]: And there is in the psychotic break or any drug use, that is a extremely terrifying individual.
08:58.253 --> 08:58.933
[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know,
09:00.211 --> 09:12.521
[SPEAKER_01]: Or Allison, because in the articles that I was reading, apparently she had confided in this neighbor and shared some things that led them to believe that it was not a good situation.
09:12.961 --> 09:22.048
[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, you always hope that in these kind of relationships and these kind of dynamics, that the person who is suffering that abuse can get out safely.
09:22.088 --> 09:25.471
[SPEAKER_01]: And unfortunately for Allison, she was not able to do that.
09:29.883 --> 09:34.608
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I know that lots of different people from all over the country, all over the world listen to this.
09:34.648 --> 09:44.799
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're in the United States, and I really hope this is not the case, but if you are someone who is going through one of these situations, just know help is available.
09:45.400 --> 09:50.283
[SPEAKER_01]: least you can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233 again that's 800-799-7233 for help.
09:50.303 --> 09:52.064
[SPEAKER_01]: You can also text the word begin to 8-8-7-8-8-8.
09:52.464 --> 09:54.065
[SPEAKER_01]: Again that's the word begin to 8-8-7-8-8.
10:08.303 --> 10:21.426
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I really do hope nobody listening is going through any kind of domestic violence situation, but if you are just know that there's help available, there are resources out there in your safety is of the utmost importance.
10:21.526 --> 10:31.328
[SPEAKER_01]: So again, this is just one of those ones that it really got to me in a way that a few of our cases do a lot of the stuff that that I research and go through.
10:32.554 --> 10:49.377
[SPEAKER_01]: It's disturbing, but you do some of these cases in a weird way you kind of become to sensitize, but then every once in a while you run into something where the details are so grotesque, you're like, oh yeah, almost forgot that some of these cases can make you feel a certain way.
10:50.078 --> 10:55.861
[SPEAKER_01]: So if we're talking to that bold test, this is not one that I, you know, I'm not checking my locks.
10:56.361 --> 11:02.524
[SPEAKER_01]: My wife and I, why we do have arguments and and and disputes just like any other couple.
11:03.584 --> 11:06.186
[SPEAKER_01]: We really work hard on the mental health aspect.
11:06.646 --> 11:18.892
[SPEAKER_01]: We do a lot of maintenance and our relationships to make sure that even if we're arguing and fighting like we're trying to do it in a way that respects the other person and you know, we put a lot of work in that because we've had to.
11:19.752 --> 11:27.959
[SPEAKER_01]: I have no concerns about either one of us trying to rip each other's heads off or, you know, thinking the other one is a demon or anything like that.
11:28.059 --> 11:47.715
[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, from a MI scared of this happening to me standpoint, this is going to be a one out of ten, but when we're talking about disturbing, when we're talking about just kind of depth of depravity, and this is just being a normal day in this couple's house.
11:48.730 --> 11:51.592
[SPEAKER_01]: For me, I mean, this would be a 10 out of 10.
11:51.932 --> 11:56.916
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, it just kind of got under my skin and made me feel uncomfortable in a way that I haven't felt in a while.
11:57.056 --> 12:02.460
[SPEAKER_01]: So that is where I'm gonna fall in the debble test, even higher on the just disturbing test.
12:02.881 --> 12:10.687
[SPEAKER_01]: But as always, I wanna hear from you, the listeners, the locksmiths, where it is in the murder of Allison Chay-Chay Rawl fall on your debble test.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know here in Tennessee, we've just been feels like getting hammered with non-stop rain often on all summer.
01:41.273 --> 01:49.137
[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully, wherever you are, you've got that good weather and I just want to say thank you for letting me hang out with you while you're doing whatever it is you've got going on today.
01:49.797 --> 01:54.459
[SPEAKER_01]: I will say this week and next week, I'm going to be doing something a little bit different.
01:55.020 --> 02:10.867
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm actually traveling, it is my sister's 40th birthday, so I'll be heading up to Michigan with the family to celebrate my sister's birthday, but after being off the fourth, I definitely did not want to have to hold off on any other episodes or anything like that.
02:11.327 --> 02:19.754
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm actually going to do a little bit of a throwback here and we're going to do a short on time for this week and next week.
02:19.834 --> 02:28.541
[SPEAKER_01]: So again, this week's case will be a little bit shorter covering a story that is breaking and after that, we are right back to our normal format.
02:28.641 --> 02:32.825
[SPEAKER_01]: So again, I hope you enjoyed these next two short on time cases.
02:33.465 --> 02:39.850
[SPEAKER_01]: But before we jump into this week's case, I have to take a moment and shout out our sponsor, audible.

03:48.348 --> 03:53.872
[SPEAKER_01]: With that, let's go ahead and quit the Gabby Gabby, get to the Stabby Stabby, let's jump into this week's case.
03:54.272 --> 04:02.838
[SPEAKER_01]: For this week's case, we're headed to Williamson County, Tennessee, where on July 1st of this year, 911 dispatchers received a disturbing call.
04:03.619 --> 04:11.024
[SPEAKER_01]: On the other end of the phone was 57-year-old Douglas Kirk Rawl, and what he told the operator was shocking.
04:11.904 --> 04:12.745
[SPEAKER_01]: According to Rawl,
04:18.019 --> 04:23.800
[SPEAKER_01]: When dispatchers ask why the man would commit such a heinous crime, his answer was strange.
04:24.778 --> 04:31.522
[SPEAKER_01]: Rawl claimed that he believed his wife had become the devil, and he, himself, was Jesus, the Son of God.
04:32.363 --> 04:41.508
[SPEAKER_01]: After the startling claim, the dispatcher asked Rawl if his wife was still breathing, to which he replied, no, she is dead as fried chicken.
04:42.309 --> 04:51.335
[SPEAKER_01]: Officers were quickly dispatched to the couple's home shortly before 2.30 a.m. And when they arrived, they found Rawl outside, taking off his clothes.
04:52.095 --> 04:58.057
[SPEAKER_01]: Officers were shouting commands, but Rawl refused to follow them, and he would eventually be tazed and subdued.
04:58.617 --> 05:05.700
[SPEAKER_01]: According to reports, officers entered the home and made their way to the couple's bedroom, where they found the body of Allison Rawl.
05:06.600 --> 05:10.462
[SPEAKER_01]: She was lying in the fetal position with an obvious gunshot wound to the head.
05:11.647 --> 05:16.710
[SPEAKER_01]: Allison would be pronounced dead at the scene and Rawl was arrested and charged with his wife's murder.
05:17.471 --> 05:21.573
[SPEAKER_01]: When questioned by police, Rawl continued with his bizarre explanation.
05:22.294 --> 05:26.296
[SPEAKER_01]: He told investigators that Allison had woken him up from a nap on the couch.
05:26.857 --> 05:33.161
[SPEAKER_01]: Apparently this anger the man causing the couple to get into an argument, and at some point, Rawl attacked.
05:33.901 --> 05:39.084
[SPEAKER_01]: Jumping on top of Allison and attempting to rip her head from her shoulders with his bare
05:40.555 --> 05:48.559
[SPEAKER_01]: When that didn't work, Rawl grabbed a silver five-shot revolver, pulling the trigger and firing into his wife's head and torso.
05:49.499 --> 05:53.001
[SPEAKER_01]: But then, the killer shared the darkest event that occurred.
05:54.021 --> 06:02.045
[SPEAKER_01]: Rawl told investigators that he was unsure if the events of the evening had actually happened, but he still believed that his wife was the devil.
06:03.045 --> 06:10.609
[SPEAKER_01]: So it was then that he decided to eat a part of his wife's body, tasting the blood and pretending to like it.
06:11.589 --> 06:24.076
[SPEAKER_01]: After Rawls arrest, investigators also talked to neighbors, with one stating that they had spoken to Allison Rawls shortly before her murder, and telling the police that they believe she had been the victim of domestic abuse.
06:25.175 --> 06:31.318
[SPEAKER_01]: Douglas Kirk Rawl, a former pharmacist, is being held on a $2.5 million bond.
06:31.998 --> 06:40.962
[SPEAKER_01]: And as of now, there's no published preliminary court data announced, but this is definitely a case I'm going to keep an eye on and loop back with any updates.
06:41.582 --> 06:44.463
[SPEAKER_01]: So let's share some final thoughts before we wrap everything up.
06:44.703 --> 06:48.925
[SPEAKER_01]: So right off the bat, I have to tell you, and I know this is a short on time, but wasn't super long.
06:49.205 --> 06:49.786
[SPEAKER_01]: However,
06:50.666 --> 07:06.155
[SPEAKER_01]: their elements of this case that as I was doing the research and reading the articles and things like that, I found myself getting a little sick to my stomach and it just got under my skin in a way that I was not enjoying.
07:07.936 --> 07:13.800
[SPEAKER_01]: We've all been in fights with, you know, spouses, significant others, you know, things of that nature.
07:14.986 --> 07:27.468
[SPEAKER_01]: what we all have not done is attack that person, jump on top of them, and then try to rip their head off of their body with their bare hands because we think that they're the devil.
07:28.448 --> 07:35.372
[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, so it definitely sounds like there is some kind of psychotic break happening, um, again, speculation.
07:35.553 --> 07:38.594
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, role was a former pharmacist.
07:38.935 --> 07:39.815
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
07:40.035 --> 07:52.643
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, speculation if any kind of, you know, drugs or narcotics or anything like that were involved, but to wake up from a nap and say, Oh, my wife is the devil, and I am the son of God.
07:53.123 --> 07:55.185
[SPEAKER_01]: So I have to rip her head off of her shoulders.
07:56.145 --> 07:57.746
[SPEAKER_01]: is wild.
07:58.207 --> 07:59.147
[SPEAKER_01]: It was just crazy.
07:59.307 --> 08:12.657
[SPEAKER_01]: And then when that doesn't work, hey, I'm just going to unload my revolver into her and then take the time to literally eat part of her body and pretend that I'm enjoying it.
08:12.777 --> 08:16.480
[SPEAKER_01]: And you may be a little confused by the pretend part in the research.
08:17.060 --> 08:22.248
[SPEAKER_01]: He was talking in his interview to police and saying that like, he thought his wife was playing dead.
08:22.649 --> 08:27.436
[SPEAKER_01]: So he thought that by eating part of her body, she would be like, hey, I'm not dead.
08:27.537 --> 08:31.503
[SPEAKER_01]: But apparently he was like, oh, this is so good and I love the taste.
08:32.847 --> 08:49.251
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, definitely feels like there would have had to bend some kind of psychotic break or something of that nature because if not, if this is just something that, you know, you get into an argument with your wife and your your thought is I'm going to kill her and then eat her.
08:49.771 --> 08:57.493
[SPEAKER_01]: And there is in the psychotic break or any drug use, that is a extremely terrifying individual.
08:58.253 --> 08:58.933
[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know,
09:00.211 --> 09:12.521
[SPEAKER_01]: Or Allison, because in the articles that I was reading, apparently she had confided in this neighbor and shared some things that led them to believe that it was not a good situation.
09:12.961 --> 09:22.048
[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, you always hope that in these kind of relationships and these kind of dynamics, that the person who is suffering that abuse can get out safely.
09:22.088 --> 09:25.471
[SPEAKER_01]: And unfortunately for Allison, she was not able to do that.
09:29.883 --> 09:34.608
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I know that lots of different people from all over the country, all over the world listen to this.
09:34.648 --> 09:44.799
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're in the United States, and I really hope this is not the case, but if you are someone who is going through one of these situations, just know help is available.
09:45.400 --> 09:50.283
[SPEAKER_01]: least you can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233 again that's 800-799-7233 for help.
09:50.303 --> 09:52.064
[SPEAKER_01]: You can also text the word begin to 8-8-7-8-8-8.
09:52.464 --> 09:54.065
[SPEAKER_01]: Again that's the word begin to 8-8-7-8-8.
10:08.303 --> 10:21.426
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I really do hope nobody listening is going through any kind of domestic violence situation, but if you are just know that there's help available, there are resources out there in your safety is of the utmost importance.
10:21.526 --> 10:31.328
[SPEAKER_01]: So again, this is just one of those ones that it really got to me in a way that a few of our cases do a lot of the stuff that that I research and go through.
10:32.554 --> 10:49.377
[SPEAKER_01]: It's disturbing, but you do some of these cases in a weird way you kind of become to sensitize, but then every once in a while you run into something where the details are so grotesque, you're like, oh yeah, almost forgot that some of these cases can make you feel a certain way.
10:50.078 --> 10:55.861
[SPEAKER_01]: So if we're talking to that bold test, this is not one that I, you know, I'm not checking my locks.
10:56.361 --> 11:02.524
[SPEAKER_01]: My wife and I, why we do have arguments and and and disputes just like any other couple.
11:03.584 --> 11:06.186
[SPEAKER_01]: We really work hard on the mental health aspect.
11:06.646 --> 11:18.892
[SPEAKER_01]: We do a lot of maintenance and our relationships to make sure that even if we're arguing and fighting like we're trying to do it in a way that respects the other person and you know, we put a lot of work in that because we've had to.
11:19.752 --> 11:27.959
[SPEAKER_01]: I have no concerns about either one of us trying to rip each other's heads off or, you know, thinking the other one is a demon or anything like that.
11:28.059 --> 11:47.715
[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, from a MI scared of this happening to me standpoint, this is going to be a one out of ten, but when we're talking about disturbing, when we're talking about just kind of depth of depravity, and this is just being a normal day in this couple's house.
11:48.730 --> 11:51.592
[SPEAKER_01]: For me, I mean, this would be a 10 out of 10.
11:51.932 --> 11:56.916
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, it just kind of got under my skin and made me feel uncomfortable in a way that I haven't felt in a while.
11:57.056 --> 12:02.460
[SPEAKER_01]: So that is where I'm gonna fall in the debble test, even higher on the just disturbing test.
12:02.881 --> 12:10.687
[SPEAKER_01]: But as always, I wanna hear from you, the listeners, the locksmiths, where it is in the murder of Allison Chay-Chay Rawl fall on your debble test.
